The Bitch Battles for Britain!

May 11th, 2008 by superbday

Well Darlings,

According to our Culture Secretary, Tessa Jowell, the controversial Olympic 2012 logo is here to stay. She admits it has not been well received, but claims it is adaptable. Adaptable? Adaptable? To what? Has that woman no shame? Pardon the terminology here but there really is no other way of putting it: for all to see the logo is quite plainly a symbolic picture of a woman giving a bloke a blow-job. It is now constantly referred to as such by so many people to have become a worldwide joke. We really shouldn’t be contemplating using it. Who wants to represent their country under some graphics that would be more at home as a logo for a porn channel? Get real!

?400,000 spent on a pornographic logo? Scrap it! Demand our money back! Should we not be able to get it, it doesn’t matter - when put alongside all the other money this government has wasted over ten years it fades into total insignificance.

I suggest running a competition in our schools to come up with a decent logo, and then using that as the basis for a professional one to be made as a replacement. We’ve thrown away ?400,000 - let’s not throw away any little pride we might still have left as a country after all the disasters of this government! The logo should not be here to stay - anyone with a little common sense can see that - so what point is there in trying to defend it? Is there a reason - something we don’t know about? I hope not. If Tessa Jowell can’t see that this disgusting monstrosity is thoroughly inappropriate, then perhaps she shouldn’t be here to stay either!

As we started with a joke, we may as well continue on with another one. Adam Ingram, the Armed Forces Minister, reckons Britain remains committed to defending the Falkland Islands. And here I’ll bet: With what? was in your mind before you read it!

Twenty-five years ago our armed forces did an admirable job in liberating a people who wanted to stay British. Nevertheless, it should not be seen as the war to end all wars over the disputed territory - in Buenos Aires the rumblings are audible once again. Nobody suspects another invasion, but who knows? We didn’t expect the last one!

Our Mr Ingram insists that Britain still has the power to repel any invasion of the islands, despite our commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan. I guess then he must be banking on a very slow invasion, should it ever happen. I mean, the last thing I read said it could take anything up to two years to get our fleet (what’s left of it!) out of mothballs and serviceable - and then we’ve got to make all the catapults etc. for the Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Girl Guides that no doubt we’d have to call upon to do the job. When recently we couldn’t find enough soldiers to man a few Green Goddess fire engines, who else could we send? The relatively small number of aircraft and less than 2,000 soldiers that were left at RAF Mount Pleasant as a deterrent could do little more than hold off an invasion until reinforcements were sent, were any aggressor to be formidable and determined. But what reinforcements have we at hand to quickly send there?

Last time - that was 1982 following the invasion - in a war that lasted 74 days it took three British nuclear attack submarines, 20 warships, 8 amphibious ships, and 40 logistics ships from the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and the Merchant Navy along with a force of 15,000 men, including a landing force of about 7,000 Royal Marines and soldiers, to liberate the islands. Along with 34 aircraft, we lost some well known and much loved ships: HMS Sheffield, HMS Ardent, HMS Antelope, HMS Coventry, SS Atlantic Conveyor, and RFA Sir Galahad. 258 of our people died, and many more suffered terrible wounds and disfigurements.

Two of the aircraft essential to the campaign were the old workhorses: the Hercules and the Nimrod. They are (incredibly) still in service and, although they have both been updated, only recently we have heard that the Hercules has become very suspect for safety - and apparently we can only have one Nimrod in the air at times in Iraq because all the others are being cannibalised to keep it going. Does our Armed Forces Minister know any of this?

Were our armed forces not subjected to all the crippling and relentless defence expenditure cuts, we would indeed be able to defend the Falklands without compromising any other commitments we might have - but today, I have serious reservations. Many would argue we are already way beyond our safe capabilities, and they could back up that argument by citing all the shortages in essential equipment and supplies we constantly hear about. Body armour shouldn’t have to be shared by our troops. Aircraft shouldn’t have to be cannibalised, only to still run on a wing and a prayer. Weapons and equipment should be tried and tested reliable before being issued to our soldiers on active duty.

Those brave people that fight our battles - in reality normally the government’s battles! - and who may be called upon to make the supreme sacrifice should not be left wanting - not ever. Not for their equipment, and certainly not for their own hospitals - another hot potato! To hell with the cost, I say. What price are we putting on these young people’s lives? We owe them everything they need to do the job as safely and as efficiently as is possible, and it should always be there ready for them. The fact that a ship, a tank, a plane, or several thousand pieces of body armour - whatever - haven’t been needed in earnest for several years should never be an excuse to cut the budget.

The task of improving the capabilities of our armed forces, and of updating their equipment to the very latest technologically available, should be ongoing. The amount of failures we are now hearing about in a war zone (official or not, what else can you call Iraq?) on a daily basis - just in battle tanks and reconnaissance vehicles alone almost 450 failings in the six months up to the end of last October, with at least another eight incidents so serious they could have proved fatal for the personnel - suggests this updating has not been happening.

Our armed forces should always be ready and able to defend this country and its interests at a moment’s notice. It is the first job of the government to see it is so, and I would argue they are not doing a very good job. War by appointment simply doesn’t happen in the twenty-first century! I’m pretty darn sure, Excuse us, Buenos Aires. Could you make it another time? We seem to be a bit bogged down in Afghanistan and Iraq at the moment, but I’m sure we’ll find something we can get to work soon and be able to oblige you, wouldn’t do us a lot of good were they to believe this was an opportune time to try again.

Of course, Argentina is unlikely to have a go, we’re on quite good terms with them and all this argument has been purely hypothetical - but for a reason. Nobody knows exactly where the next lot of trouble might kick-off in the world - and big style too. But if it were to affect this country or our interests, would we be ready for it and able to cope? I find I’m not confident we could - and I bl**dy well should be! To resist cutting our defence expenditure year on year does in no way show us as an aggressive nation, it merely shows that we are prudent and wish to keep our insurance policy fully paid up. That policy is now very seriously in arrears, and we really ought to be doing something about putting that right.

Top 10 Practices Of A Responsible Credit Card Holder

May 11th, 2008 by superbday

Credit is good, but only when it is absolutely necessary. An irresponsibly used credit card is a sure shot way of getting yourself into a debt trap that is nearly impossible to get yourself out of with out the help of a debt professional. So, for those who feel that they have been adorned with the privilege of being trusted with a credit card, this could be a wake up call to stay out of debt.

Use Your Credit Card for Emergencies

Make it a rule to use your credit card only for emergencies. You never know when you will need the credit facility your card offers you. Though the card facilitates you to buy something you would not normally be able to buy with cash, you should try to pay some amount of the bill through cash and the rest through your credit card. This will make it easier for you to repay the bill when it comes.

Don’t Use Your Entire Credit Limit

Your credit card may offer you a limit that is ten times your monthly salary. www.onlinecreditcardsinfo.com This is a temptation of getting into a debt trap where you will be repaying the interest most of the time. Try to use only 10 percent of the credit limit of the card. Do not over spend unless you are sure you can spare the cash from your next salary cheque. Don’t rush to use your full credit limit.

Repay Maximum of the Debt You Have Incurred

Make it a practice to repay the maximum of the debt billed to you. Many people try to stick around the minimum amount they have to pay, which is typically 10 percent of the bill amount. At this rate you will take about six years to repay the debt if you keep on using the card. Try to keep your credit card expense limited to 10 - 20 percent of the credit limit and repay as much as you can every month.

Keep Your Card At Home

If you find you are over spending try leaving your credit card at home when you go out. Take it with you when you feel you actually need to use it in an emergency.

Do Not Give Out Your Security Information to Anyone

Your security information is kept secret for a reason. Do not give this information to anyone. Not even to your best friend or credit card representative. This information includes date of birth, PIN and security questions.

Verify a Merchant Bill

Verify that the merchant outlet you have swiped your card at has only swiped the card once. Else you will be billed twice for the same transaction and will be a hassle to undo.

Never Give Out Your CVV Code to Anyone

Without your CVV code (the 3 digit number behind your card) you cannot make any online transactions. Your card number combined with this CVV number can be misused by any one who knows both. So when using your card at any outlet, ensure the attendant is not recording the CVV behind your card.

Never Leave Your Card Unattended

Many credit cards are stolen from vehicles. SO never leave your card anywhere out of sight including at your work place.

Check If the Card Returned To You Is Yours

Sometimes by mistake and at times deliberately, attendants return redundant cards to customers and retain the actual card for misuse. Check that the card returned to you is yours - every time.

Report Lost Cards Immediately

Do not wait to report lost or stolen credit cards. The damage might be much more than the nominal fee for blocking your card.

If you are careful with your card the above mentioned ten responsible actions regarding your credit card can save you many headaches - and a lot of money.

A Cool Tool for Mom - Infant Massage!

May 11th, 2008 by superbday

There are so many benefits to using infant massage with your baby.

Infant massage relaxes and soothes:

Not only will your baby feel relaxed so will you! Nurturing touch is a naturally rewarding way to relieve stress for both you and your baby. It has been proven that touch decreases the levels of Cortisol (stress hormone) in our bodies. Cortisol is always present in our bloodstream, but high levels of this hormone can be found in our bodies during times of extreme stress.

Deepens Bonding:

Infant Massage provides you with essential one-on-one time that will enhance your family bonding, understanding and ability to nurture. During massage Oxytocin is released in both the giver and receiver’s body. Also known as the hormone of love, Oxytocin is our feel good hormone. This hormone helps to provide us with loving, nurturing feelings which helps us to bond. An increased production of Oxytocin occurs for mothers during labor and breastfeeding. Research now shows that even close physical contact and nurturing touch also stimulates Oxytocin production. Great news for all of the dads out there who didn’t give birth to their baby, you can still produce the same hormones through the use of loving touch.

Improves Communication:

Touch is our very first form of communication. So you can assume that communicating through touch enhances your natural ability to understand your baby’s special needs and respond with appropriate care. Through the use of infant massage your sensitivity and confidence in understanding your baby’s unique cues and forms of communication is increased. You cannot spoil a baby by picking them up when they cry. When babies receive attentive responses to their needs they grow to become healthier and more secure in adulthood.

Contributes to Development:

Stimulates growth and healthy development of your baby’s body, mind and spirit. Massaged babies gain healthy weight better than babies who do not receive massage. Additionally, nurturing touch helps to enhance the digestion process. The systems of the body are stimulated during massage which assists in the absorption of nutrients and elimination of what is not needed. For some babies infant massage has also been shown to be effective at reducing the symptoms associated with Colic.

Helps Baby to Sleep Better:

Not only does massage help your baby to release stress which builds daily from new experiences, it allows them to relax. During this special time both you and your baby have time to relax. Massaging your baby helps your little one to sleep deeper and for longer periods of time which can translate into you being able to sleep longer as well!

Through massage you will not only increase your loving, nurturing bonds with your baby, you will assist in their healthy and happy development!

Ten Steps to a Healthier Diet

May 11th, 2008 by superbday

Eating! Who doesn’t like to eat? I personally like eating some things more than others…say like, ice cream. :) Seriously though, we need food to fuel our bodies, just as gas and oil fuel cars. I’m afraid that not many people know much about the food they are consuming and whether or not it is actually healthy for them.

These days, most people get their nutrition information straight from the food manufacturers. Now I ask you, is that a good practice? Do you really want to be listening to the very people who stand to make ALOT of money based on what you put into your mouth? I think it’s a dangerous thing to do. What about the thousands of ingredients and chemicals that do not even have to be mentioned on labels because they are used in processing? Who tells you about those? Are they really good for you?

Pre-mixed, pre-made, add water, open the can, snip the pouch, microwave. This is the foundation of what serves as an eating plan for many of us. We’re taught by commercials to believe that cooking takes too long, that we’re all too busy for it. The quicker the better. There’s a total lack of nutrition in this pre-mixed/pre-made lifestyle. You’re not getting fresh vegetables and all their fabulous vitamins, minerals and enzymes, you’re getting powdered remnants of them. You’re not eating a varied diet, an important way to get all the vitamins and minerals one needs for optimal health.

1) ELIMINATE ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS

If one is looking for a healthy way of eating, eliminating all artificial sweeteners is a great place to start. There’s not enough safety information on some sweeteners and too much clear and scary info on others.

www.bodyandfitness.com/Information/Fitness/sugar.htm http://www.bodyandfitness.com/Information/Fitness/sugar.htm

2) ELIMINATE PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OILS

A process to lengthen shelf life can shorten your life! Trans Fatty Acids created by hydogenation have been linked to cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Don’t risk it!

3) ELIMINATE CORN SYRUPS and HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUPS (HFCS)

Linked to obesity and now so very prevalent in just about every food category; tomato sauces, sodas, baked goods, even natural foods. They are also genetically modified. It’s cheap, easy to manufacture and it’s making us fat and unhealthy.

And get your hands on the op/ed piece called A Coronary on the Cob written by Greg Critser, author of Fat Land.

4) LIMIT PACKAGED FOODS and EAT FOOD IN ITS MOST NATURAL STATE Ultimately, food in packages has more chance of having additives and chemicals. Unnecessary ingredients can burden your body and decrease your health. You don’t need the chemicals, extra salt, sugar and saturated fat that are prevalent in packaged foods.

Today, labeling is very complex. There are many ingredients that are used in processing and manufacturing that are not required to be on the label. You truly do not know what you are getting in some packages. So save the bags, boxes, cans and make your food from scratch, whenever possible.

Eating foods in their most natural state is best. Fresh broccoli (raw and cooked) will get you the most benefit nutritionally but if you can’t get fresh, frozen is your best bet. Though be diligent about label reading as some brands again add unnecessary chemicals.

5) ELIMINATE FOOD ADDITIVES; MSG, CHEMICALS IN GENERAL, DYES Chemicals in our foods are not doing us much good. Dyes are made from coal tar (carcinogen). MSG sensitivites are well known. Our bodies are not meant to process a multitude of chemicals. We need to fuel our bodies with proper nutrition and foods that are wholesome and healthy.

6) ELIMINATE WHITE REFINED PROCESSED FOODS (white flour, white rice, white bread, white pasta) and INCREASE WHOLE GRAINS

These refined foods are devoid of nutrition. Empty calories. White flour has only a small percentage of the nutrition of whole grain flour.

www.newstarget.com/000441.html http://www.newstarget.com/000441.html waltonfeed.com/grain/flour.html http://waltonfeed.com/grain/flour.html

Whole grains on the other hand contain the oils, the bran, and all the vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber nature intended. Whole grains are a fabulous source of fiber which has been shown to reduce colon cancer. Some rich sources are; brown rice, whole wheat, bulghur, millet, buckwheat, rye, barley, spelt, oats, quinoa.

7) EAT AT LEAST ONE SALAD and FRUIT EVERYDAY

We should be eating at least 5 servings of fruit everyday. The vitamins, minerals, phytonutritients help protect us from disease.

I’ve found that by just trying to eat one salad each day that it’s enough to keep me eating well and motivated to continue. I sometimes will have more but if I follow this one salad rule, it seems to help us eat healthy all day.

8) CHOOSE ORGANIC

I read once that the average american eats a pound of pesticides per year. Yuck! Can you imagine the toll that takes on the body (combined with all the other toxins from the environment)? The vitamin and mineral content of organic foods is said to be higher than its conventional counterparts.

9) EAT HIGH QUALITY FATS

Essential fatty acids are essential to optimum health. If you’re not taking an EFA supplement be sure to sprinkle freshly ground flax seeds on salads, oatmeal, in smoothies, etc. One tablespoon of ground flaxseeds a day can and will improve your health. A handful of walnuts is a great source as well. Some take fish oil but we believe the risks are too high.

10) EAT 90% FOR NOURISHMENT AND 10% FOR FUN

I read this somewhere recently and I thought it really hit home. If you maintain a healthy foundation, you CAN stray and have fun eating those foods that might not be considered so healthy.

Ecommerce: Have Cart - Will Shop

May 11th, 2008 by superbday

In order for you to sell products or services online you will need a shopping cart application to facilitate ecommerce. While your customers simply want a way to make a purchase if they are interested in your product you will have already considered tough choices.

For Instance…

If you want a full solution for invoicing, statements, receipts and company financial history there are solutions that cover all of this with an application for a shopping cart that is tied to company financial data. One such company is COREsense based in New York. This service requires less redundant work because data entry on sales to a separate accounting software application is not required due to the full integration of financial data. For most companies this solution will fall outside normal budget constraints.

If you have no budget for a shopping cart, you have a couple of solutions that might work depending on your technical expertise. OSCommerce is available at no cost. This product is a fully customizable solution for a shopping cart, but it does require personal programming. In many cases netrepreneurs will hire a programmer to set this shopping cart up for them.

If you have no up front budget for a shopping cart PayPal makes one available at no cost, but they do retain a fee as well as a small commission on each sale. The power of PayPal may make this a trusted source for online transactions for your customers.

Yahoo and eBay provide shopping cart services at $30-40 per month and offers a few features unavailable with the low cost or no-cost checkout solutions.

There are other online solutions for cyber transactions with the tipping point based entirely on the size and needs of your online business. If you are a large company with thousands of online transactions, it may ultimately be less expensive to purchase a shopping cart system that requires a monthly fee. In the end, the fees and commissions associated with no cost carts could outpace a standard monthly fee from other ecommerce transaction solutions.

Your customers have a choice in where they shop online and you have a choice in how you manage online transactions. Spend some time checking out the services offered and how the fees will affect your bottom line both now and as your company grows.

As with all ecommerce sites, your business will not do well if it is difficult to checkout. Make sure the transaction solution you choose allow your clients to make a purchase easily. If the process if too difficult the prospect may bow out before the sale is complete.

Dixie Chicks Taking The Long Way Country Music CD Review

May 10th, 2008 by superbday

Not sure what’s happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Taking The Long Way gets. Taking The Long Way simply put is one of their best CDs to date.

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

The CD opens with a great track, The Long Way Around, that I suspect will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It really is a very nice track.

Dixie Chicks is one of those groups that have the ability to just bowl you over with their collective talent. The kind of musicians it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.

If you’re a Dixie Chicks fan, or just a fan of Country music this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

One of the really nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Dixie Chicks most impressive releases ever.

While this entire album is outstanding the truly standout tunes are track 1 - The Long Way Around, track 3 - Not Ready To Make Nice, and track 10 - Voice Inside My Head.

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore […as in Stuck On REpeat ] is track 7 - Lubbock Or Leave It. Good stuff!

Taking The Long Way Release Notes:

Dixie Chicks originally released Taking The Long Way on May 23, 2006 on the Open Wide Records label.

CD Track List Follows:

1. The Long Way Around 2. Easy Silence 3. Not Ready To Make Nice 4. Everybody Knows 5. Bitter End 6. Lullaby 7. Lubbock Or Leave It 8. Silent House 9. Favorite Year 10. Voice Inside My Head 11. I Like It 12. Baby Hold On 13. So Hard 14. I Hope

The Salvation of the Catholics

May 10th, 2008 by superbday

Members of the Roman Catholic Church do not know the truth about Christ’s way of saving man from the day of God’s wrath. They thought that by merely calling the name of Christ and do the things they thought are good will lead them to salvation. They are taught by the Catholic Authorities that through their so-called Holy Mass, souls from purgatory will be sent to heaven.

However, we should consider asking the Holy Bible. Is it enough for all Catholics to call the name of Christ for them to be saved? Christ taught that calling His name is not a guarantee for them be saved:

21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21, NIV)

What should they do? Christ said, one should do the will of God:

21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21, NIV)

And what is the will of God concerning Christ and all the things that should be done? According to Aposlte Paul, the will of God is to gather in one all the things in Christ.

9And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment-to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. (Ephesians 1:9-10, ibid)

But how could it be? Is it possible to gather in one all things in Christ? Yes. It is really possible. Apostle Paul attested:

4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. (Romans 12:4-5, NKJV)

The said body of Christ is the church.

18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:18, ibid)

It is not just any churches, but only the Church of Christ.

16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you. (Romans 16:16, ibid)

The Church of Christ is the church founded by Christ Himself:

18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18, ibid)

Therefore, Catholics will be saved on Judgment day only if they will enter, join and become part of the true Church of Christ.

If you are members of the Roman Catholic Church, you better think and strive to become members of the true Church of Christ so that you will receive the promised Salvation.

Can You Pass This Health Test? Part 1

May 10th, 2008 by superbday

1. If I cut a cantaloupe in two and eat one half and the other half I put it back in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 days, when I go back to eat it will it have the same amount of Vitamin C as the first half I ate? (a) Yes or (b) No.

2. Is cooking in aluminum pots healthy? (a) Yes or (b) No.

3. Should I avoid the sun at all costs? (a) Yes or (b) No.

4. Which of these types of milk is healthier? (a) raw milk, (b) hot milk, (c) pasteurized whole milk, (d) fat free milk

5. If I’m going to use sugar, which one of these should I use? (a) powdered sugar, (b) white sugar, (c) raw sugar, (d) refined brown sugar.

Answers:

1. NO!!! The Vitamin C content of fruits and vegetables is lost at an extremely fast rate once the vegetable fibers have been cut or bruised. It is destroyed by the oxygen it comes in contact with as well as with the heat if it is cooked, the cold if it is frozen for more than 2 months and even the water depletes the Vitamin C from fruits and vegetables because it is a water soluble vitamin.

In order to preserve the Vitamin C content of your fruits and vegetables you should eat them as soon as you cut them. If the weather is too hot store them in the refrigerator until ready to eat. If you are preparing a dish try to do it right before serving and cut the fruits into larger pieces, which will preserve more of the vitamin. If you are cooking vegetables high in Vitamin C, like broccoli or green peppers, the best way to preserve the Vitamin C is to steam them or cook them in as little water as possible and for the shortest time.
Also, cast iron pans destroy Vitamin C.

2. No. Aluminum has by products that are extremely dangerous. One of these is alum which acts as an irritant, particularly on the stomach. This in turn causes disturbances of the digestion and eliminative functions of the body. Aluminum acetate, another by product, is a standard embalming fluid, and yet, aluminum acetate is precisely what is manufactured when vinegar is placed in an aluminum pot. The combination of aluminum acetate and aluminum chloride, which is easily formed by adding salt to the vinegar in an aluminum utensil, is a deadly disinfectant.

When we cook in aluminum pots, a considerable amount of this metal enters directly into our blood stream and is carried to all the organs of our body. The poisonous effects pile up day after day as we eat more and more food prepared this way. While each day’s amount may be small, the total can be extremely dangerous to our health, progressively affecting our reproductive system, nervous system, blood stream and heart. So, do not cook in aluminum pots!

3. No. The sun is a wonderful source of energy and health, although could be a dangerous and harmful force when not dealt with intelligently. Over exposure to the sun can lead to painful, even fatal burns, skin cracks, bleeding, headaches, dizziness, and nervous disorders.

Here are some tips to help you gain all the positive benefits the sun has to offer: (1) Man was not meant to lie directly under the rays of the sun. Not merely because such direct exposure can be harmful, but also because the healing qualities of the sun can best be found when combined with the plant life around us. Try to take your sunlight through the trees or cover yourself with moistened leaves. (2) Don’t bath immediately before sunning or you wont be able to absorb adequately the Vitamin D, since the skin oils are what helps you derive this vitamin from the sun. (3) No more than half an hour of sunlight at any one time is capable of being absorbed and used by the body. (4) A suntan is actually nature’s safety device, which filters the harmful rays of too much sun. This does not mean to avoid the sun entirely. To gain the power of the sun, you must feel its warmth.

4. Raw milk. The process of pasteurizing milk not only kills disease germs, but it also destroys the bacteria which sour milk, just as Pasteur originally destroyed the microbes which turned wine to vinegar. Thus, pasteurizing milk helps maintain it fresh for more days, that is actually its main benefit. Pasteurization would not confuse most people as to its value if it had a more obvious name like boiling. Most people know what boiling does to food values. Vitamins are devitalized or totally destroyed by boiling. In particular, vitamin C is sensitive to heat and much of this vitamin is lost through pasteurization. In addition to its lower vitamin content, cooked milk is far less easy to digest than raw milk. For this reason many doctors prescribe raw milk for sensitive young stomachs.

5. Raw sugar. Natural or raw sugar, as opposed to the common white stuff used everywhere, is a good food. Sucked directly from the cane, it is a delightful food and you are missing something if you have never tasted sugar cane. The raw sugar extracted from the cane is a brown, pebbly substance that contains many natural minerals of value to the body. White sugar, granulated, powdered or even the refined brown sugar, which is not to be confused with the raw product, has no value to the human body other than the calories with which it supplies us. Since all foods that are high in caloric content and low in other nutrients, minerals and vitamins, are almost useless to us, it would be best to eliminate processed sugar from the diet altogether. Also, honey and molasses are also fine substitutes for refined sugar.

Democrats Urge George Bush To Run For Third Term

May 10th, 2008 by superbday

Congressional Democrats, delighted with George Bush’s stubborn resistance to their every request, have invited him to run for a third term. Forgoing support for their own roster of Democratic candidates, they have offered to vote for an exception to the 2-term limit.

Senator Harry Reid, outspoken opponent of the war in Iraq said, “We’re just having such a darn good time failing to get the President to listen to common sense that we’d like to keep it up for four more years. Think how dull it will be having someone who’s actually responsive to Congress.”

Bush seemed pleased by the offer, saying, “I’ve been concerned that, if by a long shot, a Democrat gets elected, my policy on Iraq might get changed. So I welcome the Democratic initiative to help me keep the war on track.”

Hillary Clinton, a bit miffed by her loss of Democratic support, commented, “I just don’t understand what Democrats are doing asking George Bush to run for another four years when they could have just as much fun bashing me.”

Senator Barack Obama joined in the disinclination to support the initiative, saying, “While I understand the entertainment value four more years of George Bush would offer the Democratic party, support for this alarming idea is enough to make me consider becoming a Republican.”

Exactly how the new Democratic push to reelect President Bush will work out remains uncertain. Apparently, their support for it depends on the unwavering obstinacy of the President.
